Established by the Legal Action Center in 2001, the National Helping Individuals with criminal records Re-enter through Employment (H.I.R.E.) Network is both a national clearinghouse for information and an advocate for policy change. This site includes state-specific governmental agencies and community-based organizations that may assist people with criminal records, as well as practitioners, researchers, and policy makers who seek information about laws, policies, or procedures that impact community reentry. These entities may provide criminal record mitigation assistance, answer questions that are relevant to your state, or offer referrals to other useful resources. To access this information, click on a state on the below map, or choose from the alphabetical list below.
This is only a small sample of what may be available in your area. New organizations form and others dissolve year to year. Please email us if you know of an organization that provides great services in your area, or if our information should be modified due to recent changes.
